Revenues for Ebony Magazine have been declining dramatically ever since the economic downturn last year. With a 40% drop in ad sales this year, the future of the historic publication is in doubt. Linda Rice Johnson, CEO and daughter of founder John H. Johnson, has so far been unsuccessful in attempts to secure a partner or potential buyer. Ebony is one of the longest running publications to prominently cover African-American celebrities, fashion and lifestyle topics.
