At the Standard Hollywood, the Artist is In

Batman and the Commissioner had their symbol in the sky, and now artist Piero Golia and the Standard Hollywood have their own arrangement.

On May 18th, the hotel will give Golia’s Luminous Sphere installation its own launch exhibition. The glowing globe will only be lit up when Golia is in town  -  presumably staying at the trendy hotel.

Part of the LA><ART Public Art initiative and Los Angeles Public Domain, the 1-year installation is part of LA><ART’s space for “provocation, dialogue and confrontation by practices on the ground in LA and abroad.” The space has the goal of providing contemporary artists, architects and designers with an accessible exhibition space.

And, if you happen to be one of those creatives, it looks like they’ll leave the light on for you.
