Estee Lauder Prescriptives Brand Discontinued

Estee Lauder has officially announced via press release the discontinuation of the global wholesale distribution of its Prescriptives brand January 31, 2010. Analysis of the brand has determined “the brand’s long term business model is no longer viable given the current market environment.” The remainder of the Prescriptive product inventory will be sold through www.prescriptives.com while supplies last. President of Estee Lauder, Fabrizio Freda, comments on this transition by saying, “We believe that the difficult decision relating to Prescriptives will allow us to redirect our resources to key strategic imperatives where we see highest growth potential.”
