Apple Drops Newest Products

Christmas came early for Apple lovers this week when the nigh-worshipped company released many new products – including the newest versions of the iMac, MacBook, and Magic Mouse. Techies all over the world are scurrying to test out, take apart, and reconfigure these newest additions to the Apple family, but John Biggs at CrunchGear already has the bottom line about the new MacBook. So: worthy replacement, or black sheep? Well – Briggs says that it depends on your perspective. Because the newest MacBook has been pared down for easier use (it now sports a non-removable battery and a non-slip, rubber bottom - but not any FireWire ports), this isn’t the best choice for the tech-savvy user, but it’s an excellent buy for the student or “entry-level user.”  But cash-strapped students beware! While the design may be more minimal, unfortunately, the price – $999 – remains just as stodgy as before.
