Despite our prayers to the weather gods, summer is unfortunately long gone and winter is fast approaching — which reminds us, it’s about time to restock on blush to cover up six months worth of sunless days, as well as to look for the winter accessory that never goes out of style: the fur coat.
The lovely people at internet luxury boutique Portero.com have added an entire category exclusively for second-hand designer furs from Dries, Marni, Miu Miu, et al., with every piece carrying Portero’s quality assurance. Â (The lowest rating is a mere “excellent.”)
Because of their quality, the furs will cost a pretty penny; an Alaïa Mongolian lamb, for example, will set you back $1637.  Keep in mind, though, that prices will be discounted at least half off retail value and that, if you don’t mind the idea of fur, buying good second-hand is a better investment for both you and our planet.
