In direct contrast to the staid conservatism of recent collections, this spring/summer season Paris sticks its tongue out and goes back to the fundamentals of human existence: SEX.
“To hell with the recession,” the collections of Chanel et al. appear to say, as the proper ladies of seasons past are replaced on the runways with their more sensual, more feminine sisters. Although the sensible thing in these fallow times is to play it safe and stick to the basics, it’s much more fun to let our hair down and remember not to be so serious.
