You know that when a barely known(super) fruit already has a PR firm, it means business; and you know when this same fruit allows you to leap tall buildings in a single bound, and then race around the block like a seductive jaguar, that it deserves a second look and a third taste. Okay, we may have exaggerated the jumping and racing skills, but a fruit known as the maqui berry is the latest to make health headlines. The purple berry comes from the Patagonia region of South America and the only unconquered Native Americans of the Americas, the Mapuche Indians. Dining additions from a people of legendary strength and stamina, who pick fruit that have two to three times the antioxidant yield of any fruit ever tasted available on our tables? Oh please yes!
Let’s just hope this one can fight of the pill peddling people who turned the Acai berry from superfruit to super annoying.
