The professional world is bursting with acronyms, architecture notwithstanding; but in the positive realm of advocacy and education, ‘one too many’ should not even enter our lexicon. Enter the Association of Architectural Organizations, the creation of Lynne Osmond, president of the Chicago Architecture Foundation. AAO launches with a conference this November in Chicago, designated to promote design from the upper echelons of government to the heart of elementary education. For the child that sees architecture as such a big word: to become more like art, and a thing of beauty in their eyes; and for the professional that sees the networking innerworkings as an organization of sway and conviction.
