New Zodiac Sign Dates Mean You May Not Be What You Thought You Were

“What’s your sign?” may have ceased to succeed as an icebreaker a few decades ago, but lots of people still give an occasional (or frequent) glance to horoscopes.

Now comes news that when it comes to zodiac signs, you may not be who you think you are. According to Parke Kunkle of the Minnesota Planetarium Society, the dates commonly associated with zodiac signs are off since the Earth has moved around a bit from the time ancient Babylonians first turned to the stars to find a suitable pickup line. And, those of you born between November 29th and December 17th may be shocked to learn that you’re actually part of a sign that was previously discarded in a bit of astrological housekeeping.

Newly anointed Ophiuchans will probably struggle with what this all means since they can’t find any representative keychains, coffee mugs or other merchandise, but according to Wikipedia you are now part of the “serpent-bearer” sign, and the constellation is close to Sagittarius. Since logos are going all crowd sourced these days, you may even be able to come up with your own representational figure.

Everyone else can shift to the appropriate horoscope and stop wondering why their lucky days were never lucky. Mystery of the universe solved courtesy of science.
