Bling Bang: Mexico Drug Cartel Life Imitates Art

Remember when Sacha Baron Cohen’s Bruno toted a gold-plated Chanel RPG on red carpets ahead of the movie premiere (and we’re guessing there’s a better chance that you saw the publicity stunts than the film)? Though Gronquist may have been trying for a different statement, designer weapons are apparently very much in style for Mexican drug cartels. In a recent raid, Mexican authorities seized 38 highly decorated weapons that include handguns and an AK-47 with inlaid diamonds, silver and gold plating and engraving. {Gawker}
