Honeysuckle 18-2120 Ousts Turquoise As 2011 Color of the Year

What, you may ask, is Honeysuckle 18-2120? It’s Pantone’s pick for the color that will rule the world in 2011.

Taking over for Turquoise 15-5519, Leatrice Eiseman, the Pantone Color Institute’s Executive Director, describes the color as “a captivating, stimulating color, that gets the adrenaline going- perfect to ward off the blues.” {the Independent}

Poor blues. Just last year soothing turquoise shades were the color to beat, and now they get the news that they just weren’t upbeat enough for 2011.

Eiseman tells the Independent “While the 2010 color of the year, Pantone 15-5519 Turquoise, served as an escape for many, Honeysuckle emboldens us to face everyday troubles with verve and vigor.”

If you’re feeling emboldened by the color of the year, but want to lend the color to web or print design products, the codes in the image above should be a good starting point. Honeysuckle’s HTML hex color is #D34B73 and the corresponding RGB values are 211, 75, 115.
