Target’s played host to designer capsule collections from Rodarte, Jean-Paul Gaultier, Proenza Schouler and many more. H&M has had their share of design superstars like Sonia Rykiel, Stella McCartney, Karl Lagerfeld and Viktor & Rolf. Today comes late word that the two budget behemoths will collaborate on capsule collections for each other.
“H&M is recognized globally for their collaborations with leading designers, and fashion forward offerings,” said Trish Adams, senior vice president, Target. “Target is honored to offer women across the country the creativity of a collaboration between the foremost designer collaborators in the business.”
“We’ve studied and admired Target’s partnerships for some time. With the number of capsule collections between us, the time for a combined collection felt right,†says Jörgen Andersson, H&M’s Head of Brand and New Business.
Look for pieces from the H&M for Target collection to debut this fall, followed by Target for H&M during Holiday 2010. While photos are being kept under wraps, the collection is expected to feature best selling looks from previous collaborations, in addition to new pieces designed especially for the partnership.
